#NEARVETproject – What is applied research? Who are applied researchers?

What is applied research? Who are applied researchers? Am I or are you one?

These are some of the questions we are trying to answer with the “NEARVET – Network of Excellence for Applied Research in Vocational Education and Training”.

The NEARVET team aims to stimulate innovation by promoting applied research in the VET sector, engaging VET providers and their practitioners with the private sector, with the mediation of public institutes and the wider research communities for the creation of innovation eco-systems.

The project ultimate goal is to develop, pilot test and assess collaborations between VET providers and private sectors entities in the field of Applied Research through a network structure that will improve education and training while fostering innovation.

Moreover, NEARVET responds to the current trends and challenges in the labor market and VET education, concerned with practical skills to face our changing world. NEARVET offers an innovative approach to the need for radical solution-building in VET programmes in a post-Covid, digitally-enabled environment.

Ultimately, the NEARVET team will offer you free resources, such as a blueprint with a competence framework for applied research, an Online Digital Hub (learning, teaching, open-access research), and a NEARVET Network.

These will be developed over two years by 12 organizations coming from 5 different EU countries:
